Backflow Prevention

Savannah Valley Utility District (SVUD) has created a Cross Connection Plan which is required by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). SVUD’s goal is to supply safe drinking water to all of our customers. We also provide water for Agriculture and Farming purposes in our district. The possibility of backflow due to improper use of water within the customer’s premises is especially significant because such cross-connections may easily result in the contamination of our water supply mains. A Reduce Pressure Principle Assembly Backflow is used to prevent this occurrence from happening. Please review our Cross Connection Plan.
